PORTAGE | A Porter woman convicted of check fraud in December is
charged with a long list of fresh criminal offenses after police
said they found her with multiple stolen credit cards.

Regina Westley, 31,?faces multiple drug possession, resisting
law enforcement, disorderly conduct and theft charges.

According to Portage police, officers responded to the Holiday
Inn Express, 2323 Willowcreek Road about 10 p.m. Tuesday, where a
Hobart man told them Westley was using credit cards she stole from
him days earlier.

Officers went to her room and?said they heard yelling
inside.

Police said Westley came to the door smelling of alcohol and
burnt marijuana and said she had been raped by a man in her room.
That man said he met Westley at a nearby bar and she invited him
back to her hotel room. He later noticed his cash and credit cards
were missing from his wallet.

Officers spoke to Westley who they said admitted to smoking
synthetic marijuana. They searched her purse and reportedly found
credit cards belonging to both the man in the room and the man
waiting in the lobby, along with another man?s pill bottle, a glass
smoking pipe, a number of hand-rolled cigarettes, 10 packets of
synthetic marijuana and recently-purchased clothing.

Police said when Westley was taken out of the room, she ran off
down a hallway. Officers tackled her to the ground and later took
her to Porter County Jail.
